Other Questions to Ask a Mormon
  1. Mormons claim to believe the Bible, "as far as it has been translated correctly."  Which verses of importance do you claim to be mistranslated?
  1. Mormons do not make such qualifying statements about the Book of Mormon.  Joseph Smith claimed God gave him a "gift of translation" regarding the Golden Plates containing the original Book of Mormon. Therefore, by Divine gift and help, Joseph Smith's original translation of the Book of Mormon into English could not contain errors or need further editing or changing.

  2. How then do you explain over 4000 changes between Joseph Smith's original translation and the present version? Some of the 4000 changes create significant doctrinal meanings from the original. (i.e. They are not all merely to update the grammar.)

  1. Joseph claimed to have seen God the Father and Jesus the Son, in physical bodily form.  Does God the Father have a physical body?
  1. Does God's Holy Spirit have a physical body? (If "No" then, Why?)
  1. Does a spirit have a physical body?
  1. Since no one questions the translation of John 4:24 ("God is a spirit"),  how can God the Father have a physical body?
  1. Who was Jesus' father? What is his father's name?
  1. Who created the earth? (What is his name?)
  1. Who created the planets around other stars? (What is his name?)
  1. Who created the stars? (What is his name?)
  1. Why then do John (1:3) and Paul (Eph 3:9 & Col 1:16) say Jesus created ALL things? (Gen 1:1-26)
  1. Does God change?
  1. Where did the first God come from? When was the first planet created around the first star?
  1. If you must first dwell on a planet physically, in order to obtain a physical body, in order to beget children, in order to become a god, then how did the first god become a god? => Which came first...the planet or the god?
  1. If everyone must shed his own blood to atone for his own sins, then why did Jesus teach that his shed blood would atone for the sins of all who would believe on him?  Why did his apostles teach the same thing?
  1. If our hope is to die and go to heaven in order to enjoy heavenly, spiritual marriage and beget more "spirit children" then, of what importance is the doctrine of the resurrection?
  1. Of what importance is Jesus' teaching about Judgement?
  1. What does "the gospel" mean to a Mormon?
