Hawk Moth (Sphingidae Macroglossinae Theretra latreillii lucasii - Macleay, 1826)

Found as nearly mature larvae in Fairview Park, Yuen Long,  Hong Kong on June 15, 1999.  Three larvae were feeding on Impatiens.  The recorded literature does not include this as a LFP.  Other reported LFP are Melia asedarach, Ludwigia caryophylla, Columella corniculata, Ampelopsis brevipedunculata & cantonensis, and Saurauia tristyla.

The larva was about 61 mm / 2.4 inches long.

Pupation took place on June 24, 1999.
The moth emerged on July 8, 1999.
