Golden Emperor (Saturnidae Saturniinae Loepa sikkima)

Light trapped at Kadoorie Research Center on Dai Mo Shan, Hong Kong, on October 1, 1999.  The male moth pictured below was light trapped on February 8, 2000. Some ongoing classification studies suggest this Hong Kong species may actually be Loepa kuangtungensis.


Ova produced by the female below.
Diameter was about 2 mm / 0.08 inch.
