Lemon Migrant (Pieridae Catopsilia pomona f. ??? - Fabricius, 1775)

Found as eggs and caterpillars on a Kassod tree (Cassia siamea) at Braemar Hill, North Point, Hong Kong in mid October, 1998.  I found other larvae through mid November, 1998.

The eggs were laid mostly on or near new leaves.

The new caterpillar was about 4 mm / 0.15 inch long.

The mature caterpillar was about 40 mm / 1.6 inches long.

The new pupa...and one (a male) ready to emerge.

The male's wingspan is about 60 mm / 2.4 inches.  The female's is about 56 mm / 2.2 inches.
