Small Leopard  (Nymphalidae Nymphalinae Phalanta phalantha - Drury, 1773)

Found one specimen in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, in July 1993.  Found this specimen at Braemar Hill, North Point, Hong Kong at the end of October, 1999.  LFP are reportedly, Scolopia chinensis (Chinese Scolopia) and Salix babylonica (Weeping Willow) [P. Lau].



The female butterfly, top and underside.
Wingspan is about 3 cm / 1.2 inches.
The genders are very similar.
