Peacock Pansy (Nymphalidae Nymphalinae Junonia almana - Linnaeus, 1758)

Found as adult specimens.  The larval foodplant is reportedly Alternanthera philoxeroides and Hygrophila lancea (P. Lau); so far, no caterpillars have been found.  The wet season specimen was taken in Sai Kung in September, 2003.  The dry season specimen was taken at Tai Tam reservoir on Hong Kong Island the middle of October, 2005.  Both were nectaring on Lantana.  Both genders are similar.
