Inchworm moth(Geometridae Geometrinae Pingasa chloroides - Galsworthy, 1998)

Found one larva feeding on Rhodomyrtus tomentosa(see below) at Tai Tam Reservoir on November 8, 2002.  The larva seemed to prefer to eat young leaves and was found near the tip of a branch.

Typical rest posture.
About 12 mm / 0.5 inch long.

The mature larva in another typical rest posture; Nov 15, 2002, about 2.8 cm / 1.1 inch long;


Pupation took place in a very loose cocoon among leaf litter on Nov 18, 2002.
