Inchworm moth  (Geometridae Geometrinae Herochroma cristata - Warren, 1894)

Found 3 larvae at the top of Braemar Hill in North Point, Hong Kong, on March 30, 2006.  They were attached to the edges of different leaves of Schefflera octophyalla plant, looking much like dried twigs.  A fourth larva was found at Tai Tai reservoir on April 16, 2006.


The 2nd instar larva was about 32 mm / 1.26 inches long when found
