Inchworm moth (Geometridae Ennominae Cleora repulsaria - Walker, 1860)

Found a caterpillar at the top of Braemar Hill, North Point the last week of September, 1998.  The larval foodplant was Curly Leafed Acacia,  Acacia auriculifornis (see below).


The nearly mature larva was found resting/feeding on Acacia.


Two views of the pupa.
Only a slight cocoon was formed within some tissue paper.
The pupa was formed in the middle of October;
the moth emerged 12 days later.

Wingspan is about 31 mm / 1.25 inches.
