Dark Veined Tiger(Danaidae Danaus genutia - Cramer, 1779)

Found as a butterfly nectaring on Lantana, the last week of October in 1998 on Mau Lau Saan, N.T., Hong Kong.  The caterpillar feeds on the vining Milkweed, Graphistemma pictum.  The egg shown below was found at Wan Chai Gap Road on Oct 11, 2000.

The wingspan was 65.4 mm / 2.6 inches.
