Lychee Stink Bug (Hemiptera Tessaratomidae Tessaratoma papillosa - Drury)

The adult was found near the Kadoorie Farm & Botanic Garden on Lam Kam Road, Daai Mo Shan, Hong Kong on July 31, 2001.  The young nymphs feed on other plants than Lychee, since the nymphs pictured below were found at Choi Sai Woo Park in Norht Point, where there are no Lychee trees nearby.


Early nymphal form
It was about 8 mm / 0.3 inch wide by 13.5 mm / 0.5 inch long.

Older nymphal form.
It was only slightly larger than the form above.
June 18, 2003.


Length was about 2.7 cm / 1.1 inches
