Large Red Leafhopper (Homoptera Cicadellidae Bothrogonia ferruginea - Fabricius)

Caught at Lion's Nature Education Centre, Sai Kung, Hong Kong on March 3, 2002.  There were several dozen in the Butterfly Enclosure, chewing large holes in the leaves of different plants, including Hibiscus.


Length was about 1.4 cm / 0.6 inch.
