Taken at a light trap at Kadoorie Research Center, Tai Po, Hong Kong on April 8, 1999.
A partial cluster of an egg mass of about 150 eggs,
laid on April 9;
the inset shows some eggs 6 days later, just prior
to hatching.
The eggs were laid in one layer, each one next to
another.
The eggs are about 0.76 mm / 0.03 inch diameter.
Several types of lichen were provided as food, but
none seemed
to be the correct type. All the larvae died
after about 4 days.
Top and Underside views of the moth
Wingspan was about 68 mm / 2.7 inches
This appears to be a male specimen, though
the gender marking variation is not great.
