Tiger Moth  (Arctiidae Arctiinae Lemyra alikangensis)

Found several larvae feeding on Clerodendrum fortunatum on 12 June, 2000 at Braemar Hill, Hong Kong SAR.


3rd instar larva.


Mature larva, 24 June, 2000; about 25 mm / 1 inches long.


Pupa formed 30 June, 2000
 


Enlarged of a male moth at rest.
Eclosure on 13 July, 2000.


Top and Underside views of moth
Wingspan was about 40 mm / 1.6 inches


The larval foodplant, Gyaura crepidioidae
