Found as catepillars on Smilax china (Greenbrier). The caterpillars typically rest on the top of the leaves, along the medial vein.
The catepillars were found at the Braemar Hill, North Point, Hong Kong on July 28, 1999 as well as May 16, 2000 and January 7, 2002. This species is quite widespread and can be found thoughout the warmer months. The eggs are quite small, grey and spherical with ribbing. The butterfly can be found in deep shade on open forest floor, resting on leaf humus.

Both genders appear similar.
