Inchworm moth  (Geometridae Ennominae Godonela emersaria)

Found as a caterpillar at the top of Braemar Hill in North Point the third week of October, 1998.  It was crawling on concrete, so the foodplant is unknown. It went into a prepupal state the next day, so it had probably been looking for a safe place to change.

The mature caterpillar was about 31 mm / 1.25 inches long
Overall appearance was purple or blue with green stripes.
